13 Apr Powering The Future: EV Charging Upgrades At Edmonds College
We are excited to share one of our recent projects at Edmonds College, where Lumenal Lighting helped expand and modernize the campus’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
Our team installed five new EV chargers – three Level 2 EV chargers and two Level 3 EV fast chargers – along with all the supporting electrical work needed to make the system reliable today and ready for future growth. The project included:
- Running a new 480V, 400A feeder from the existing utility transformer
- Installing a new 150 kVA step-down transformer
- Pouring and finishing concrete pads for the chargers and service equipment
- Trenching, asphalt restoration, and backfilling to safely route new electrical lines
- Coordinating with the local utility (PUD) to ensure smooth integration.
The result is a safer, more efficient charging setup that gives students, faculty, and visitors convenient access to dependable EV charging right on campus.
