09 May Minority Owned Business Certification Achieved

Mountlake Terrace, WA – Lumenal Lighting, LLC is proud to announce that we have achieved Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Certification awarded by the State of Washington Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises. In January 2022, new owner, George Viray, endeavored to pursue MBE Certification. He participated in investigative reviews, provided eligibility documentation, and met all rigorous requirements. This comprehensive and valuable process mitigates fraud in the MBE certification process. The certification award demonstrates that Lumenal Lighting meets the requirements to do business with large corporations and local, state, and federal government departments as a minority business entity.

George Viray established majority ownership of Lumenal Lighting in 2022, partnering with the former owner, Don Nielsen, and Shane Petitt, the VP of Client Relations with over 35 years of lighting experience. As a results-driven, seasoned professional, Mr. Viray sought to elevate the company, expand product and service offerings, and establish us as the chosen vendor for commercial, industrial, government, educational, and municipal lighting improvement projects. Mr. Viray’s experience in increasing company revenue, improving operations, and implementing strategic financial planning make him uniquely qualified to take Lumenal to the next stage of our evolution. His first goal was to certify Lumenal Lighting as a Washington State minority-owned business for the first time in its 42-year history. Mr. Viray is currently pursuing certification for the State of Oregon, as well.
